A law to protect the National Anthem that Restricts Free Speech? You Bet!

Some people from Indiana are just Irony Proof I guess.Fine proposed for botching US national anthem.

Sadly, Not The Onion.

The Money Quote:
"Becker's national anthem bill would introduce "performance standards" at state-sponsored events, with singers signing a contract before they warble the tune. Schools would also be forced to maintain audio recordings of every single performance of the anthem, in case anyone complained. "I don't think it would be very difficult for schools," Becker said. "You could record it on a cellphone."

Good grief..

The post that inspired me to start this blog. Simply unbelievable...

This is the story that inspired me to start this blog. As I was reading it I mumbled that well worn phrase to myself... Sadly, this is not the onion. And here we are.

Court OK's ruling that police candidates can be barred for high IQ. Sadly, Not the onion.

Money Quote:
"Jordan, a 49-year-old college graduate, took the exam in 1996 and scored 33 points, the equivalent of an IQ of 125. But New London police interviewed only candidates who scored 20 to 27, on the theory that those who scored too high could get bored with police work and leave soon after undergoing costly training."

Yeah because maybe becoming a Detective someday and solving Murders and other crimes would be nothing but boring and pose no mental challenges.

Good Grief.
